On our way to St. Simons for vacation, we decided to have a stop over in Savannah. The only times I had been to Savannah previously were with a fraternity formal and a bachelorette party. Not the most calming and relaxed environments to explore in, nor were our minds set on slow strolls through the moss lined squares. The city takes on a new wonder when you go there with a fresh perspective.

Savannah, like my other favorite Southern City Charleston, oozes with antebellum charm and is dripping in Spanish moss. The river front keeps the city bathed in a cool breeze throughout Spring, and their eclectic and traditional food scene attracts tourists from all over the world the embrace in its Southern Splendor.
After asking a bunch of you on instagram for food recommendations while we traveled down I-16 from Atlanta, we landed at our first spot of the day: The Collins Quarter. My stomach growled in anticipation as we waited outside for a table to be ready. I saw they had avocado toast on their menu and I was sold on what to order from there on out.
Accompanied by a sake-based bloody mary with all the pickled trimmings. The Collins Quarter is an Australian-esque cafe that is teeming with charm on the inside. An instagrammers dream with white marble tables, punchy red booths, lots of natural light and a bar fit for coffee lovers and spirit seekers alike.
It’s casual elegance and impressive menu made this a must stop on our adventure, and I would be remiss to point out that they have the best damn avocado toast I’ve ever had in my life at their restaurant.
Sourdough bread is grilled and then topped with the freshest avocado, feta cheese, radish slices and a poached egg and is accompanied by a small green salad. We exchanged brief grunts of happiness as we devoured our food in silence.
After chatting to some local TV producers who were sitting next to us, we bid our farewell to The Collins Quarter and headed up Bull Street towards Forsyth park to walk off some of the food coma we had incurred at Brunch.
If I lived in Savannah I would be stopping at The Collins Quarter every morning for breakfast or coffee or both! With the lively cafe seating and to-go window, it makes for the most convenient of stops on the way about your day.
I’d easily have to say that the Collins Quarter is now one of my favorite restaurants in the world, apart from De Gelsomina in Capri.

After spending the afternoon roaming through the cobblestone sidewalks and mossy oaked neighborhoods, we returned to our hotel for a little rest and refresh before heading to dinner. With the taste of excellent avocado toast still fresh in my mind, I couldn’t imagine that dinner could get much better, but to my surprise, dinner was more splendid than I could have imagined.
This photos make me miss my hometown! I love love Collins Quarter, so glad you picked that as one of your spots on your trip!!
Umm…why wasn’t that place open when I lived there?! It looks amazing. One of my favorite places in Savannah is the Starland Cafe. It’s better to go by car unless you really love walking bc it’s down near Victory/80.
My husband and I honeymooned in Savannah just last May and absolutely loved it. The Olde Pink House was our favorite meal of the trip-Southern food at it’s best!
