Traveling Light with Jon Hart Design

Even though summer is quickly coming to a close in 9 days, I’m going to steal away for one more petit Summer Vacation before it’s blanket scarves, equestrian vests and riding boots until Spring rears her flowered crown in March once again.

One more Summer vacation means it’s time to use my favorite travel bag from Jon Hart Design once more. And with its punchy turquoise color, it’s sure to keep you craving summer until we’ve completely drowned in pumpkin-spice-everything come October.

Jon Hart Design was kind enough to send me one of their Coachman bags and makeup cases to test all summer, and it’s gone through the gamut with all of the #travelingDarling I’ve been doing – seriously, my 4Runner has racked up quite the mileage hauling me and my overstuffed bags back and forth between the Carolinas and around Atlanta I’m surprised the tires haven’t up and left me! But with all of those fantastic travels under my belt, I’ve had the opportunity to stuff my bag to the brim with 40 outfits for a 3 outfit kind of weekend. What? A girl has to have options!

This weekend will be spared no expense of overpacking, which means I’ll have to hoist out the Coachman to make sure I get everything I need in one bag – more or less. The last time I lugged my Coachman on a trip, I’m positive it weighed easily 35 pounds. But the shoulder strap really protects you from over straining your shoulder while toting your bags around. I am also a huge fan of the leather trim. It hasn’t worn in yet, but is just as fresh as the day I got it two months and 3 trips ago.

One of my favorite pieces has to be the Makeup Case I was sent. I’m really not into makeup that much – side note any beauty blogger out there want to give me all their tips and skills, that’d be great – so I don’t own enough makeup to warrant anything larger than this bag but it’s perfect for what I need! It has a small pocket on the inside for stray bobby pins, and the lining is completely washable which is great when your Mac setting powder decided to bust open spontaneously one day…

If you’re looking for investment pieces for weekend trips and even week long plane travel, I highly recommend taking a look at Jon Hart. I love their canvas style bags and will definitely be a repeat customer. I even had a monogram added just so everyone knows at baggage claim who the bag really belongs to.

  • I got a gift card to order some pieces! Think I’ll get the mainliner and the weekender….I cannot choose a color! Torn between mint (my fav) and black (most practical and sharp…) please help me decide!

    • Personally, my next set is going to be Navy! But I think Black would be classic too! The mint is really fun for weekenders in the summertime! Sorry, I might not be of much help, all of their colors are so pretty!
