Have you ever seen that skit from Parks and Rec where Tom and Donna spend one day a year treating themselves? If not, they basically spend one day acting on all their wants and celebrating their awesomeness with whatever it is their heart fancies. Cake for breakfast? Treat Yo Self. Extra long bubble bath? Treat Yo Self. Diamonds? Treat Yo Self.
Playing off that theme, now that I’ve taken my GMAT and have completed the application process for grad school, I wanted to treat myself and commemorate this moment with a thoughtful gift. I want to be able to look back on it in 20 years and be proud of everything I’ve accomplished and I couldn’t think of doing that any other way than with a few sparkling goods. So now that I have the means and a certifiably good reason to buy my own gift, I wanted to treat myself with some new diamonds of my own choosing.
I knew exactly where I wanted to go for said gifts, Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry. I have previously received jewelry from Jared and always appreciated the great customer service, various designers to select from, and they have a wide variety of price points that I could choose from. The options were limitless, and my “treat yo self” day had ended with me deciding on the two stacking rings, one traditional gold diamond ring and one infinity shaped gold diamond ring plus the prettiest bezel set diamond necklace. It was more than I had intended on ordering, but hey, in the words of Donna and Tom, “Treat Yo Self.”
When it comes to jewelry, I’m not one for gaudy accessories. While there was a time and a place for chunky statement pieces in my younger days, now that I’ve been refining my style to more classic, timeless pieces, I’ve been gravitating towards jewelry that adheres to the same principals. I think my favorite part of the bezel set solitaire diamond necklace is how chic and understated it is. When I clasp it on the tightest setting, it rests right on the notch of my décolletage, which is such a feminine place to let jewelry hang. My boyfriend called it subtle and elegant, and I can’t agree with him more.
The rings that I chose to pick out had a vintage feel to them but are timeless in their 14K gold setting. I adore how the two pieces look stacked together. Like a sparkling piece of art for my right ring finger, it’s a lovely replacement for my late Grandmother’s engagement ring that I wore daily before it was unfortunately lost last year. I know if she could have had a hand in helping me pick out these new rings they would be just the ones she chose as well!
I decided to unveil my “treats” while I was at breakfast with my friend one morning, we were both celebrating new milestones in our career so it only seemed appropriate we celebrated together! I’m glad I have these pieces in my possession to remind me of all the hard work I put into getting into grad school, now let’s just hope that I hear some positive news from my applications! Fingers crossed.
